Amitabh Chandra is the Ethel Zimmerman Wiener Professor of Public Policy and Director of Health Policy Research at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
His research focuses on innovation and cost-growth in health care, medical malpractice, and racial disparities in health care. Professor Chandra received the first prize of the Dissertation Award from the Upjohn Institute, the Kenneth Arrow Award for best paper in health economics, the Eugene Garfield Award for the impact of medical research, and the American Society of Health Economists Medal. He is a member of the Panel of Health Advisors at the Congressional Budget Office and served as Special Commissioner on Provider Price Reform for Massachusetts.
