Michael Chernew is the Leonard D. Schaeffer Professor of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Chernew’s research examines opportunities to control health care spending growth while maintaining or improving quality of care. He is a member of the Panel of Health Advisers at the Congressional Budget Office and of the Committee on National Statistics at the Institute of Medicine. Dr. Chernew was named as a Highly Cited Researcher (Top 1%) by Thomson Reuters, and has won awards from the National Institute for Health Care Management Foundation and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality for his published work.
